small oil leak

Today I found a small amount of fresh oil at the bottom of the engine, near the joint between the oil pan and the transmission (see pic). Seems to be motor oil. The oil drain bolt is not leaking, neither is the oil filter housing. No signs of oil leaks anywhere except at this point. BTW, this is an '05 MCS, about 15K mi.

I searched on NAM and found some one else with the exact problem (see post 5 for a better picture than mine): https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ht=oil+leak%5C

No resolution on this old post, though. Anyone else with this problem?

am not sure about this but it could be your power steering pump, mine was also leaking small amounts of oil until the PS pump failed and I noticed that this was the source. well it´s just an option it could be anything. take a close look at how the oil looks.

Thanks for the suggestion - I'll take a closer look at the PS pump.
