Xenon bulb replacement

Ok, I had a bulb go out on me, it was the passenger side and when I swapped them, the bulb that was dead on the passenger side was also dead on the driver side. I've tried to find a replacement bulb but the man at pep boys told me that Xenon bulbs were illegal, when I told him it was what was in my car stock, he told me that it would be the whole assembly and it would be special order and around $1000.

So I called up my MINI dealer and they want $195 though I forgot to ask if that was for one or 2 bulbs. (Because I think I remember reading that you should replace them in pairs)

When I search the web, I find all sorts of information on kits for replacing halogen but no real info on replacement bulbs. Anyone have a similar situation? (My warantee is up with 55k miles on the car so that's out of the question)

They are $195 a piece.

Get the PN and check on ebay, they usually sell them in bulk on ebay for cheap.

Yeah, they do get expensive. PIAA brand HID's are worse than that.

Give Classic a call and see what it would be with the NAM discount.

If they are OEM, the matching part number and same temp it should match the other side with no problems. If you go aftermarket tho you should expect to replace both since the color might not match. I remember looking around at Xenon bulbs for the 3 series online and they were about $125 ea.

Lastly, if it were my I'd go by the dealer anyway and see if htey might cover it under warranty. You never know..
