Burble tuning

I have an 05 MCS and I loved my burble, but over time it has gone from a nice deep burble to a very metallic ping/pop. I have searched but haven't found anything as to how to restore that nice deep burble w/out changing my exauhst. I reset the ECU a few days ago b/c I added the VGS hoses, after the reset I noticed it got closer to the way it once was but it still doesn't have that sports car burble that it used to, instead it sounds like someone is lightly tapping my exausht with a hammer. Any thoughts? Also I will be adding a CAI as soon as it arrives in the mail and I was wonder if this would affect the sound coming out the back or if I will just hear more superchager whine?

All exhausts tend to quiet themselves down after a while as soot/carbon builds up inside, the muffler baffles rust (in the case of non-stainless) and the packing (if any) shifts around. Even a new exhaust (save for maybe a straight pipe) will eventually change it's tone as time goes on. I noticed my Milltek is not quite as loud and 'metallic' sounding as it was when I first installed it. It still sounds sweet though.

You want Burble.... You can't handle burble but, if you really want burble, get a magnaflow

It's not so much that its quieter but that it has changed and I want the deep sound back nothis high pitch tap-tap-tap. As far exahust goes I don't have the budget to do so yet.
