Sticky door latch problem
Sticky door latch problem
The driver's door latch on my 05 MC has begun sticking. The black plastic squeeze handle (on the inside of the exterior door handle, if that makes sense) hangs up in the open position. I have had to use my fingers to pull it back out so the door will close. Not good. My Cooper has about 3500 miles on it, and we're having our first real cold spell (8 this morning).
Is this something other folks have had trouble with? Is there a simple cure?
Thanks

sounds like you got ice inside your handle. you didn't wash your car
recently at sub temps did you?
does it stick while parked inside
your garage too? (over 32F)
i am not sure if de-icers are okay to use for door handles, but you might
want to try that or some WD40. WD40 has much lower freezing point
so it should work while cleaning, deicing, and lubing.
hope there are better suggestions... but worth a try.
