Wednesday night my power steering pump failed on the way home. I was able to get home and called for a tow to the dealer in the morning. I didn't want to drive the car the 35 miles to the dealer. Well the estimate is $708.00 including labor. Of course the car is out of warrenty (63,000 miles).
Does this $$ seem all right?

 

I would double check with the dealer....Theres a bulletin/recall out if i remember for a bad grill on the fan which cools the pump ( fan had a bad design grill which will fail when road debris hit it or something got stuck due to the opening of the grill ). If this was never changed prior to your warranty ending i dont see why they wouldnt take care of this for you now with no charge.
