OBDII software

Looking for a software/hardware package I can connect to a laptop. Also need to have support for Ford, Mercury, and Chevrolet not just the Mini. I've seen the Auto Tap and the Auto Enginuity setups. Currently leaning in direction of the Auto Enginuity package despite steep price...700. Any others? I like the idea of using gauges to view what I want, when and where I want. Furthermore, the record capability is a must.

I just purchased the AutoEnginuity package. It works great and has lots of cool features. I think there may be others out there with the same functionality, but for less cost. I chose it because it came with a CD that has the program on it. Also the support seems to be better, you can actually call and talk to someone at the company. Many of the lower cost ones have downloads for the program.

If I had to do it again, I think I would have gone with one that uses the Elm Scan adapter. There are many programs to choose from that will interface with that adapter.

Check out the ones that I looked at:

Auterra
Digimoto
Proscan
Car Code
Lap Logger
Scantool
B. Roadman
AutoEnginuity

Good Luck,
