I threw a belt, HELP!
I have a 19%...... I threw a belt tonight and I want to go to the Atlanta Minis event tomorrow at 1:00. Can I get a belt at Pep Boys? what size? is there any directions as to how to put it on as I have not done this before?
Couple posts down from this one may have info you can use.

Good luck!

You need the belt tensioner tool to move the tensioner arm while you place something (nail, hanger wire, awl) in the spring strap hole to secure the arm out of the way. To make the job easier remove the lower air dam and skid plate; even easier also remove the bumper cover, passenger side tire and wheel well lining.
Without having the tensioner tool I’ve used a metal stake with a mushroomed head on a floor jack and have also used as a lever a piece of angular metal used to mount conduit to walls.
Since you should be changing the belt regularly with the 19% it’s time to get the right tool. The tool should be reinforced with a weld to avoid bending.
Spider X as many times as it has been necessary to ask for directions on some kind of trouble shoot issue
; don’t you think it is time to get a Bentley service manual? Please don’t take offence because none is intended; I enjoy your openly shared experiences:smile:.
