installed own pulley , might have issue

hey i just installed my own 15% pulley over the weekend, everything went great . couple issues with the install, like my pulley puller form advanced auto parts snapped in half. had to go get a diesel one from sears which did the trick. performance is great so far definite improvement. i know have an alta cai and a pulley.
this might be all in my head but since i put the pulley in, the gearbox seems a little bit notchier. is their anything in the pulley install that could have affected this? i dont know that much about cars so i dont know. 1st to 2nd has always been notchy but the other day it got caught while shifting to 3rd, which seemed odd. im might just be paranoid but does anyone have any info they could give me.
thanks

Those should be totally unrelated components.

I'm not sure how the shift linkage is hooked up but if you jacked the engine up out of the compartment for the pulley install you may have put pressure on the shift linkage.

If it still shifts ok and doesn't feel loose or tight in any spots I wouldn't worry about it.

It could also be that with all that extra power your just jammin' the gears more

ha jammin gears more, i like that. it feels ok, shifts fine and isnt tight or loose or anything. where is the shift linkage anyways? i payd pretty close attention to make sure i wastnt hitting anything. the side where the intake is was hard to see and their was a bunch of stuff there i had no idea what it was. i think im just being paranoid though. does anyone know what would cause the intercooler boot to blow off? my freind has a gti with a stage 2 epi turbo. suppossedly he gassed it hard and one of the boots on his intercooler blew off and if he doesnt have the gas pedal pressed it just shuts down now. anyone??
