Collapsing Hose?

I've heard rumors of a breather (?) hose collapsiing due to heat on some of the early MCS cars. Trying to do a bit of preventative maitenance on my "02, So what's the scoop you all who are long in the tooth with this forum? :smile:

i think GreatBear had a fix for this somewhere. :smile:

if you take your car in for maintenance, the dealer should replace it
for you along with the rear latch for the boot.

Thanks.....

I'm a diy kinda guy so if I can find out what the hose issue is I'll fix it right up. They've fixed the latch (man that thing rattled). And took away v32, but that's a different thread and I don't want to get depressed all over again.

Replace your PCV hose (lower left of valve cover when viewing engine from front of the car) with a 4 inch section of 3/8 fuel line hose. The hose supplied with the car on earlier models does not like the heat and oily vapors, it eventually balloons slightly in size and becomes soft, the vacuum will then suck the hose shut sometimes accompanied by a wheezing, whoopie cushion sound.

Very simple fix.
