Lower left corner. Approx 3" in length. No apparent impact. 03/2002-build MC with Sport package - no sunroof. Not replaced yet.

 

Make that 7" and growing. Clearly a stress crack.

 

All I know is that a few months back I saw a MINI (at a British car meet) with the exact same crack in the exact same place. A Motoring Advisor at the event said, "we need to fix that, bring it in." I think if I were you that's what I do 'cause I don't thing this other one was caused by impact either.

 

There have been a number of threads on MCO about this problem. SilkGreenGreg mentions an interesting find by his dealer in #2 of his opening post for this thread.

Do a search on "windshield stress crack" to find some of the other threads if you're interested.

I found that thread and will definitely let my Service guy know about the possible fix. I just wanted to log my problem in case someone (MINI) is trcking these things on the MCO.
