I've searched the threads and I don't see where anyone has had this particular problem. Please reply if you have heard of this before because MINIUSA has not and as a result my tranny is on it's way to the MINI Engineering team.

It started two weeks ago after a visit for a loose A/C cable. When I would accelerate in first, second and third the car would make a vibration noise (almost nasal in nature), but it would only resonate in the first 3 gears, by 4th it would be normal. It was down right embarrasing.

Of course when I carried it in no one could hear it, but I drove with the tech until we heard it. When they could not figure out what the noise was they called the MINI Engineers, and they were of no help either becasue they said they have had no complaints like that before. They determined on Monday that it was the tranny and replaced it.

She drives great now especially after getting my Pirelli P Zero Neros put on this morning, but that's another story.

Has anyone heard about this type of tranny problem before?
