ac odour

i'm sure this will not be the first post for this issue but it is my first experience. my mcs has 47,000 miles on it and the temperature up the 395 on the eastern side of the sierras today was in the hundreds. noticed on two occassions the smell of anti-freeze when i first started up the ac after the car had sat for an hour or two. the ac seemed to work fine although i am going to change the carbon air cleaner this week before driving to the pacific northwest.
any thoughts???
do i need to clean, replace or service something?
thanks

I have the smell, but it's usually overheating at the same time, are you sure you haven't overheated? It usually happend when trying to run the a/c that only works part time
