Hello again

Does anyone who does a lot of windows-down motoring (or any convertibles out there) notice a kind of semi whistle-squeak when the suspension hits a sharp bump?
i find gentle bumps no problem, but i'm pretty sure my car does this squeak-whistle thing when i hit a sharper bump. it is subtle but definetly there.

i was contemplating the possibility that the CBC or DSC is kicking in and tapping the brakes on that wheel, but my mini doesn't squeak at all during normal breaking.

I believe the sound you are hearing is just the shocks compressing and releasing air. My Mini makes the same sound, but have learned to cope with it.

 

this noise is definetly new, and getting worse. A better description might be the sounds of dragging chain over concrete.

i checked under the car and in the wheel wells, nothing obvious.

anyone else notice this??

 

i have the same problem. i went to the dealership and they said nothing was wrong.

 

Mine just started at about 29,000 miles. Now I'm at 30,000 miles and all but 1 wheel does it. It goes in for service next week. Will see what they say.
