Intercooler Diverter

I have seen 2 intercooler diverter replacements for the MCS. One is the ALTA and the other is a carbon fiber model (BFP?). Anybody have a recommendation on which one to get?

Thanks in advance!!!

One is for looks and the other is for function. The carbon one does nothing to enhance performance as it's only purpose is to add 'bling' when you open your hood.

The Alta on the other hand is about enhancing the performance of your stock IC. Without a doubt, I personally would not even consider the CF diverter and most certainly would go with the Alta.

I thought you had the complete Alta IC and not just the diverter. Yes?

Ok - what about the ProMINI? I've seen numbers that state 12+ hp gains vs the Alta's 7-9.

It seems that we are talking about two different things here ....
I'm assuming that you are now asking about an intake.

Oops - wrong post! Sorry!

Guess that's what I get for posting questions about 2 mods at once...

I too have an Alta IC diverter. Don't know that it helps performance much, but I like the looks.

anyone ever paint or modify the Alta cosmetically to make it look better? I dont know if i really like the plain aluminum look of it. But i will agree it looks like it works alot better than stock or that CF one

I've seen an anodized black one before - I'm wanting to see if that's a standard model and that's the one I'd prefer.

definitely go with the ALTA, recommend getting it from http://www.triple-c.com they give you the sprayer with it and replace the intercooler seals with alta silicon ones.

Thanks also for this info. I'm going with a larger IC and I was debating whether or not to go with the ALTA, it will be the Alta.

Does replacing just the diverter with the factory IC make a diffrence? What are some of the benefits of this upgrade?

Just to clarify, every vendor of the Alta diverter includes the sprayer and intercooler seals - it's part of the package. So shop for the lowest price. I have seen it for $150.
