Beep Beep
Beep Beep
So after 4 trips to the mini dealer because my low tone horn kept crapping out, I decided to save myself another trip (and half a day) and replace it myself.
So I brought a low tone horn at autozone and got out my tool box. The connections were different (I was expecting that anyway), so I fabricated and connected it up. Sounds just like the factory horn, and only cost $8.00
The replacement itself was easy, just the lack of room made it tough to work fast. The longest part of the swap-out was trying to find my allenwrench after I dropped it down the inside of the front bumper (didn't remove the bumper to switch the horns, I know most people do but that was just to much to replace a horn). So after I discovered you can access the inside of the bumper underneath the car, I got back to business.
So for $8.00 and 45 mins of my time (15 looking for the allenwrench), I saved myself a trip to the dealer and about half a day.
They have replaced my horn too many times for my liking, and I figured if you want a job done well........do it yourself !!!!!

I replaced the weenie horns in my Festiva with 132dB FIAMM "Highway Blaster" horns and it sounded like a semitruck:smile: I once honked the horn to get the attention of a friend next to me and he gave the finger to the poor trucker behind him
Nobody expects that kind of sound comes from such a wee car. So much fun I programmed the remote to honk the horn.
I wouldn't have expected anybody would be able to wear out so many stock horns outside of NYC...
