Delivery Procedures...

I have been thinking that I will go sit with a tech and get everything programmed the way, I want it to be. I have been woundering a couple of things, that maybe you guys would help me with.

1) Is there a way to set a driving limit? On my X3 with Nav there is a setting for the driving limit, Ie the car goes BEEP BEEP at 85.

2) Is there a way for the seat belt beep to go away. In my X3 I put the car in "euro" mode and it fixed all the stupid beeps and warnings. Is there a possibilty to do this here? Yes I wear my selt belt BUT, that initial 30 seconds it can get bloody anoying!

3) Can I have the alarm activated in the software before I actually install the alarm? This would make things really easy for me

I am sure I will have a few more questions. Is there anything I should look over in pre delivery?

The only way to set the driving limit that I'm aware of would be in the operation of your right foot. But I don't have the OEM navigation, just a Magellan.

I have seen a thread about a "fix" for the seatbelt beep, and a couple of people on this board have done it. Rather involved, but appears to be worth it for these people.

I believe the alarm needs to be "online" for activation of the computer. You can't "preprogram" the computer to see the alarm if it's not there...

edit: Seatbelt thread here...

so does that mean that just the brain part with the 4 sensors needs to be installed in the back? IE a 5 minute job?

I assume - but someone with a OEM alarm needs to chime in here.

Probably. I know that this was available in the 2003 version of the Nav system and I'd bet it hasn't changed. This is something you can do yourself in the settings of the Nav system. It'll take you about 5 minutes once you get the car to figure it out. No special tech menus to do this either.

Aye it would be easy if I had nav. Is there a way to do it without nav?
