When shifting from 1st to 2nd gear, I hear a clunk coming from the transmission. It only happens from 1st to 2nd gear (and maybe about 50% of the time). I will have it looked at when I go in for service in September. It has been doing this since new.

Does anybody else have this clunking noise?

Mine's been pretty noisy out of the box too. It's an 03'. I think it's normal as
even the Edmunds review mentioned something about a snickering tranny
or something or the other. :smile:

My other cars did not/does not have this noise.

 

Exactly the same with my '05 MCS. I consider this normal. Worse when I'm sloppy with the shift...pretty minor when I pay attention to a smooth 1st to 2nd transition. :smile:
