m7 pulley installed...

Just installed the m7 pulley yesterday and the car definitely pulls a little harder, but from reading all the posts praising this mod(pulley swap) about being the "best bang for your buck",I guess I was expecting more from it.
Anyway,I have a OutMotoring pulley puller for sale now $85.00 and free shipping by ground,if you want it quicker you pay the shipping.

Sorry to hijack your thread but I have a question. With the puller, is the stock pulley reusable?

Absolutely, the supercharger shaft is drilled and tapped so the stock pulley can be pressed back on with the right tool.

Thanks! I want to put on a pulley but I might need to sell it in the near future and I wanted the ability to put it back to stock. Even if a shop has to do it at least it can be put back on.

I would be impressed if someone could get a stock pulley back on....I dunno how they do it but we tried to swap one back just for gits and shiggles and well it didn't work...even with the SC off the mini...

Probably works like the crank pulley where it needs to be heated up to be pressed back on.

Hey Tuls,I don't know what you guys were using to put the stock pulley back on,but you would need a tool similar to a harmonic balancer installer.I've built a bunch of small and big block Chevys and the harmonic is a press fit just like the supercharger pulley.

Yep, unfortunately this board is filled with people that exagerate wildly, I think it's just inexperience. I posted the same thing after my pulley: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ghlight=pulley

Hey kaelaria,
Your previous post about the pulley is right on!!I guess not too many people have ever been in a REALLY fast car.I have a friend who has a .060 over 454 in his Chevelle that has 14.5 to 1 compression with a camshaft that shakes the ground,a 4-speed and a 4.56 12-bolt,now that is a FAST car!!I know you can't compare the MINI to something like that, but I just thought the pulley did more.It just makes you want to do more to the car/engine to make really noticeable power. What if the pulley was 20 or 25%...?

Well, it would give the boost levels we would need for the power and excitement - unfortunately the intake temps would skyrocket, and I learned on here that the water pump is coupled to the SC shaft, and it's impeller would cavitate...looks like 20-21% is the max, and redline has to come down for those levels, so it's a wash. 15-17% looks like the limit for high RPM without other considerations.
