No. We have had the click occur on BOTH the driver's side and the passenger side. Had 2 half-shafts replaced on the driver's side, solved the click both times...for a few weeks. So far after the last half-shaft replacement, the driver's side has not clicked anymore. On the passenger side, we have never had anything replaced. I simply re-torqued the nut and so far...so good (only been 4 or 5 days).

How's six days?

I just retrieved a message from my friendly SA. They're skipping the flywheel and going for the half-axle and bearings. Seems Tech Help has been at work with them.

Click, click, click as the speed increases, 1st, 2nd...

I have a rotational click, but it's coming from the passenger side.
Me too. Last visit (25,000 mile checkup) to the dealership I brought it up and was disappointed in that the Tech just said the tires were worn. Dah
I didn't have the time to argue it then but I'll be back.
Then we will have a little session in trouble shooting.
My complaint is on the record as are his comments, so we shall see.

I may be getting my car tomorrow! (if the half-axle/wheel bearing replacement solves the click, that is...) The SA says the regional rep has looked over this one.

It will be interesting to see if the axlen-nut-retourque-only fix or the driveshaft replacement fix will fix things permanently. Still no clicks returned here, after 8 autocross runs this weekend.

I Really hope it does the trick, josh. However, if it does, it would effect my anticipation of MINIUSA knowing what's going on. They handed a list of TRY THISs to my service guys, and at the top of the list was a wheel bearing/driveaxle replacement. I hope there's a new design on the driveaxle for the number of times it has definitely worked for Dave&Stacey (0). Because that's an expensive replacement compared to a simple axle-nut-retourque that at least one dealer knows about...

Ok well just got My Mini back this evening and they re-torqued the axle nut again!! My tech supervisor said that if it happens again they will write up what he said is a "Puma"(I believe that's correct) report to send to Mini and start an investigation. So far the pop and click is gone again for I guess another week.

Gone on left - starting on right :(

The silence on the left axle has brought my attention to the heretofore only suspected click on the right. The dealership is VERY backed up. I will give them time to clear it up as this click evolves from detectable to constant.

The left axle has remained silent since i picked che up on saturday.

Dave and Stacy, I hope you are in the clear!

I've put Dave and Stacey's so-far-fix in my first post in this thread. I'd hate for someone with this malady to miss it.

Similar clicking here, just noticed it a couple of months ago on my 03 MCS. Seems to be just on the drivers side, though it's difficult to tell. At first I thought suspension, then I thought clutch or transmission. This thread isn't helping too much. Will bring it in.

what're you talkin about, michelle? We've all but arrived at a conclusive solution to the wheel click. Axle-nut retorque, baby! see first post... cheap and easy.

Yeah, I've read it got retorqued and remained quiet indefinitely. There's word that the torque is being increased by MINIUSA someday. By all means, bring it to the dealer. It's really their mess, anyway.

sorry to hear you're clickin too.

Update....19 days and still clickless. We'll start spacing our updates here now. My real question is where we're going to be 2-3 months down the road. We'll see!

What is the size of the axle-nut? Hate to find out I'm missing a socket.

Headin over to the local shop to get the retorque. Couldn't see hiding a third torque wrench in my kitchen just to perform this simpler task.

Glad to hear it's still workin!
