i have my check engine light on, this code p1689 reads of my ecu...
what does it mean?
i was driving on to a HWY to pass a car i down shifted and floored it i started to get going all suden the car shut down but not complitly, i had power to drive at 10 MPH only...
i stoped and looked over the engine nothing was wrong..
turned car off and started againe and drove just fine but with the CEL. on...
so i need to knew what this code is and what does it mean...

P1689 5769 Electronic Throttle Control Monitor Level 2/3 Torque Calculation Error

Sounds like when you floored it you may have somehow caused a condition that the ECU thought was impossible or incorrect. Probably no harm done..

 

I had the same thing happen at the on-ramp to a highway. The car had 1.000 miles on it. I was almost involved in a multi-vehicle accident. The dealer said they had never heard of such a thing happening, but were unable to find out why it happened so it may happen again.

 

Someone else had that exact same code. lemme see if I can find it...
