Funky Noises on a 05 MC

Funky Noises on a 05 MC
I've noticed a strange noise that happens once in a while that bothers me. It sounds like a billiard ball hitting another one, and only happens when I'm in 'stop and go' traffic when I'm accellerating or decellerating. Has anyone else heard of this?

Could it be the popping noise the exhaust makes?
Perhaps have someone else rev the car in neutral and you can stand behind and listen to see if that is the sound you are hearing
Edit: oops, just noticed that you have an MC, not an MCS, and I do not know if they make the same sound
