"check engine" icon light.... (SES) fuse location

ey guys, i just want to know if when you turn on the ignition but not start it, will this icon above the EML light should turn on? all the indicator lights seemed to turn on like the eml, airbag, brakes, runflat indicator, etc etc... and after a while it will go off... it's just that engine icon won't light... is that normal??? i've already tried to remove the fuse, the EML light won't turn on... (do they share the same fuse?) and the fuse is fine...

need help.... i'm a bit worried....

On my '04 the light immediately above the EML is the DSC light I believe. It seems that the sequence of lights varies on sucessive "On" cycles. Occasionally the DSC light will light when the key is turned on, other times only the battery and oil pressure light come on. Likewise, sometimes I notice the airbag and ABS lights, other times they don't come on either. Might also have to do with how far off or on you turn the key.

The Service Engine Soon lamp should definitely come on when you turn the key ON but don't start the car. That's the self-test showing that the DME is functioning and connected. Disconnect the DME, turn the key on, and you'll find the light does not come on.
