Uh oh, found a clamp on my driveway

Working on my other vehicle today I noticed a 3" diameter clamp on the driveway. Thinking I had knocked it off my Jeep, I picked it up, but realized it is one of those crazy German ones.

So my question is, where did it come from? There are none missing on the air intake, but I don't know where else they may be.

It is a CLICR clamp, part # 96-720.

I installed the intake about 7 months ago, in an apartment complex. Weird, huh?

Do you now have the factory clamp you were missing for 7months?

I would double check your intake system including the front snorkle and the throttle body.

clamp

Don't the C.V joint boots use the same clamp?
Maybe the gas tank as well?

Or maybe it's just some evil MINI owner running around at night randomly tossing German clamps in the driveways of other unsuspecting MINI owners.

...except that this behavior would seem much more likely to come from a Mini owner, not a MINI owner. Sort of akin to pouring motor oil on the ground under new MINIs at a meet.

iamwiz82, hope you figure out what's up! How far are you from your dealer? Might be best to have them check it out.

Well, I checked the intake again and they are all there. I live about 2-3 miles from the dealer, but I'm sure they'll see the intake and say that is where is came from. It is Motor City MINI, after all.

Are the CV joint clamps that big? I'll when my hydraulic jack is free.
