They say they have applications for the MINI. Just wondering if anyone has heard anything good or bad, or if anyone has tried one.

i wonder the same... so i sent them an email with this questions about the g-box.

-Will you g-box work with mini cooper and mini cooper s models?
-Is the g-box an ECU upgrade as a piggyback or a flash?
-What kind of performance increase can I expect from it?
-Is it a plug and play intallations?

as soon as i get a responce i will post their answers...

we'll see what they have to say...

They're always for sale on ebay. Don't know anything about it, I just see them all the time. If you decide to get it, you could save some money.

Yes, they have a version listed for both the MC and MCS, g-box and g-box gold.

Piggyback

also listed on the site.

Yes plug and play 15 minutes.

All of that is on their site, I want to know if anyone has tried or heard how it works.

Don't buy one. I purchased one (for another vehicle) about three years ago when the company was just starting to sell them on eBay. It's just a resistor that makes your IAT sensor think that the air coming in to the intake is colder than it really is. Especially with our Minis (and forced induction in general), that can be very dangerous.

How did I figure it out? Smashed the module to little bits with a hammer. I became suspicious because of the shady responses to questions that the owner was giving. It cost me $12.99 at the time ("special"), so I didn't worry about the cost of destroying it.

Anyway, I wouldn't get it. It will work on some applications, but it's not worth the risk of a blown motor.

Oh, and you also have to wire it in to your intake sensor by hand - this means cutting the stock wires and then soldering the module in.

I agree with strom, 100%. This company is sleaze at its worst. They have a big advertisement on their web site about how other companies just provide a simple resistor to fool people into thinking that they are doing something beneficial to their car. They claim that their G-Box does so much more. They think that by embedding one 15 cent resistor in a block of fiberglass they can fool people into thinking that this thing actually works. I did the same thing that strom did and smashed it with a hammer. One wire is hooked up to a resistor and the other wire isn't hooked up to anything, just passes through the fiberglass.
