Hello Everyone, I have been repairing and replacing parts on my MINI 2005 Cooper S R53 with 140k miles. My supercharger went, so as I was going to take alot of parts off, I decided to repair or replace cooling system (radiator/hoses/clips/thermostat/water pump. Belts were replaced and worn out parts replaced. I used several members recommendations for.tare down procedures. and for the most part they were very helpful (thank you members). I started OK and completed everything but, I thought that I documented where eveything goes, but I forgot one thing. The airbox routing of the JCW airbox filter intake duct work and I thought the membership can give me clues of what I missed (see pdf attachment).

 

#18 goes to nothing and just sits against the firewall. It's there to add extra engine & compressor sounds to the cabin.

 

Thx for your comment. I was looking at YouTube info about induction routing and I found my answer. No. 18 on the drawing is attached to the radiator shroud and provides fresh air into the air filter housing and not engine air. I had forgot this as this was of the first things I had removed.
