Bad tone right / ABS fault

Bummer. That should have read "bad tone ring." I'm chasing an ABS/tire pressure light on my R53. My Autel scanner definitely tells me it's the left front ABS sensor that I just replaced. Using the Autel I've been able to test every other sensor and they're all good. Now I have two possibilities: 1) broken harness to the sensor; or 2) damaged tone ring in the hub (saw that suggested in a post). The tone ring is simply a toothed gear so I really don't see how that could be the culprit but I'm not going to rule it out completely. Who else has experience solving an ABS light? Thanks.

Here's a follow-up for anyone else with this ABS issue:
I tested the positive voltage on the wiring loom that goes to that non-working left front ABS sensor. I got a 13.2v reading so the wiring loom was not the problem and I believe the new sensor is just bad. I removed the sensor from the right front wheel and swapped it over to the left side and it worked perfectly. So, my conclusion was that it's a bad sensor from the factory since I've seen posts from others claiming the same. Buuuuuut, for a lark I took the non-working ABS sensor from the left side and installed it into the right side and, you guessed it, it worked perfectly! Arrrraaaagh!!!! Put everything back together and took the Mini for a drive and the ABS light turned off right away and the speedo started working again. My final assumption is that the wiring connection to the left-side ABS plug wasn't perfectly solid. I did have a tire pressure light that wouldn't go off but I read on a forum how to reset it and that procedure solved that as well. Sooooo, YAY!!! Everything is right in the world at the moment (if you ignore most of the rest of the world).

just seeing this for the first time. i was going to suggest swapping sensors and seeing if the code followed. that's a simple, tried and true method of testing parts that works in many situations. glad you got it squared away!
