ABS/Wheel Speed Sensor help

Hey guys,

I have been getting an icy brake pedal every time I start the car until I get to 20mph, then the ABS light comes on, ice pedal goes away, and I have no ABS.

I replaced the front right ABS sensor. It actually broke off trying to remove it, at which point I had a solid ABS light from the point I turned the car on. I drilled out the broken sensor today and installed the new one, and it's back to the original scenario of icy pedal until 20mph, then ABS light.

The code it's throwing is 5DA2: Wheel Speed Sensor, Pulse Gear, Front Right

Can anyone give me a tip as to what to try next since it's a brand new sensor in there?

If you already replaced the right front sensor and the light still comes on for the same sensor, you may have a wiring issue. I have diagnosed and repaired a good amount of chafed wires under the ABS/DSC control unit located by the passenger side of the firewall.

You will have to remove the plastic components around the firewall and remove the bolts holding the unit in place in order to move it and get to the harness underneath it.

Thanks Joey! I had done a bit of reading on here, so wiring and contacts were my first suspects, but all of that checked out fine. As it turns out, is was the hub. Something had got in between the sensor and the reluctor ring and grinded it down just a tiny tiny bit, but that was enough. The hub was 4 weeks old too, haha. Good thing it had a lifetime warranty. Brand new hubs are very nice to change out, took me about 15 minutes All is good now!
