2005 R52 - occupancy emulator = battery drain
I bought and installed an occupancy sensor emulator for my 2005 R52S. It worked like a charm and turned off the airbag light - huzzah! But, it also created a 450ma parasitic drain on the battery as the center instrument cluster was not going to sleep. A shop tried replacing the cluster with another known good one to no effect, and the drain went completely away when the emulator was removed. I read a couple other threads with this same issue; however, there are plenty of people that have installed emulators without a drain. I'd appreciate a referral to those products; I'm not certain if it was a defective product or my car is defective, but I'm inclined to think it is the former and don't want to have that issue again.
