I have a 2010 Mini Cooper and periodically it will either stall while trying to start up or when coming to a stop it then stalls out. When starting if you give it some gas before it stalls it then kicks in to idle and seems to work fine for a while. Would appreciate any help or advice. TIA.

 

What BMW fault codes are stored in the DME?
Also consider monitoring the fuel pressure when the problem occurs versus when it doesn't occur.

Try cleaning the mass airflow sensor.

 

Cleaned the throttle body and the mass airflow sensor, replaced the brake vacuum pump on the side of the motor, did an injector cleaning and oil cleaning service and something of that seems to have fixed the issue.
