Hello.
I had an EP warning sign on my cluster. the gear sensor the one mounted just on the gearbox and also did a gearbox service changed the oil and put the recommended oil. The LEDs on the gear shift lever are not working and when I engage a gear maybe R or D the car doesn’t move until I give it gas and it stops moving once i let go of the accelerator. Mini Gen 1 R50 2003
FAULT CODES:
1: 1826 DME Shiftlock Relay (CVT) Input low
2: 1611 DME Communication Connection, Gearbox Control Unit

What could be the problem and solution as well?
I really miss driving the mini haven’t driven it in almost 7months now

 

I was not looking forward to tackling this job, but was able to, step by step, dissemble the console, drop the exhaust, and switch out my damaged shifter for a salvage one. Yep, $150. -- you were spot on. Thanks again for sharing; really appreciate it!
