Hi! I have a 2004 MC with CVT. Today I was driving home and it seems like my Cooper won't shift out of 6th gear no matter what I do. I tried every combination of gear shifting possible but it just rumbles very slowly until I get to 40 mph then starts to accelerate normally. All gear indicators are normal. Any Ideas?

Thanks in advance, Mat

Possibly, you’re too high into gear that you cannot shift under six gears. Six gear is the top gear, but it also protects you from shifting to low as well.

Sounds like you have a problem. The CVT will not shift when your in
manual mode if it calculates you will do damage, such as going
over the red line. But it sounds like you are in 6th gear all the time,
and 40 mph is 3rd gear speed.
