Hpfp feed line problem?
Hpfp feed line problem?
Hi all,
Car is for sale so hpfp decides time to act up. Wonderful. Should be straightforward enough to replace so pump acquired and job started. Low pressure feed line was difficult to remove and now it can be pulled off by hand. Pelican Parts say it should be replaced each time and since it doesn't lock on firmly it is probably unsafe. Hard to see where it connects further down in the car. Is it easy to replace? Kinda hard to find anything on searching since "fuel line" brings up a ton of unrelated issues and "low pressure fuel line" brings up lots of low pressure pump issues. Bentley manual skips this bit completely.
Looking for pump options, I noticed rebuild kits from Latvia on eBay. Seemed pricey at ~$180, but I wonder if they're any good.
So far the only repair I've had go smoothly were the sway bar links.

Hello, Most people just get the PSA OEM (made in czech republic) pump from us as it has a lifetime replacement warranty now.
I have heard the china one fail right out of the box, dont know about the rebuilds.

The low pressure feed line is fairly easy to replace from underneath the car. If you jack the card up you will see the connection between the steel and flex feed line just above the subframe. Its awkward but you can reach up and disconnect from below.
I did jack the car up and put the left side on a jack stand, but a brief foray underneath and I didn't actually locate the line. Feeling uncomfortable under there I went back to the top method. Once again it would be much easier on a lift.
I got a 321D code on scanning which is Tank EVAP leak code, but hope it stays away and only was due to the fuel lines being open.
cheers
