I've had my R53 for 20 years (04 pre-facelift) and for the life of me I cannot remember if my brake wear light ever came on/illuminated at start up.
I've seen/noticed on some other 1st gen Minis, upon turning the key to the second position/diagnostic routine, their speedo lights up momentarily, like a pinball machine (e.g: brake wear, airbag, seatbelt, tpm, eml,dsc etc...).
I get all of the above except for the brake wear indicator light.
No big deal.
Just wondering if a lamp might be out or if it's just a pre-facelift thing.

BTW: The brake wear indicator alert light only illuminated once since my 20years.= The rear brakes were worn.....That was about 13years ago.
I've since serviced the pads, rotors & sensors 2wice (and bled 4 times) since then/within 70k mi.
Again- No big deal. Just curious.
