I have an 2004 MC40 and the factory gauges by the shifter do not work. The wiring appears to be there but I cannot find a diagram to decode the colors. Neither gauge currently works. P.O. replaced the radio and did a little hacking and I think may have messed it up. I am trying to get the car back to 100% and any help with the wiring and preferrably a diagram would be great. I have the install instructions for the Mini dealer sold retrofit kit but the colors from that set of instructions do not appear to match the factory install.

Nice! I may need this as the ones in my jcw only work sometimes, I think the previous owner may have done something when wiring the aftermarket cheap radio in that only works sometimes also lol..

 

One of the gauges is OIL TEMP. It receives its information from a sender that doubles as the oil drain plug. These sensors are NLA.
However, I found a replacement made in Latvia on eBay.
