R56 New boost gauge install
My ProSport gauge has 4 wires --- the obvious power, ground, and nite lighting, and a 4th wire to change display color. The wiring procedure is a couple pages long and unique to this ProSport model. If you don't have a set of instructions, I suggest you contact the mfgr for a set. They are often available as a download.
The backlight control on the Mini is not just a simple voltage control, it is pulse width controlled so unless your gauge is set up for that you'll need an external circuit.

Thanks for the help, I got me a cheap Equus gauge from the local autozone
. I typed into google gauge install instructions for the r56 and found a how to from Alta. The guide says to pull the center up out of the car and unplug the cigarette lighter and to tap into those wires. (Red power, brown ground). I might just go along with this (the only thing about it is that he light will always be on while driving). I'll post pics later of the gauge.
Stock 2008 S auto, I see 13lbs when I hammer down and 15lbs peak in higher gear/load scenarios. Turbo muffler delete and knn typhoon intake kit with factory fresh air setup. No other mods I'm in Washington state and 100ft above sea level.

Difference could be elevation, inconsistency in sensors, and or accuracy of gauges.. 11psi peak is pretty typical from what I read here on NAM mostly.
15psi I've only hit in top of 4th gear on this one stretch of road. Strange I've yet to see 15psi in any other condition. The overboost function (mashing gas pedal quickly from at about 1/2 throttle) will typically see 13 psi and occasionally 14psi in 3rd gear and up.
