Gauge wire size to tap in to gauges?

I bought some Prosport gauges and need to run extra wire to tie them in. What gauge wire should I use? Its a fairly small gauge braided wire, but hardware stores only sell 18 gauge wire or bigger, and it tends to be solid core. Any help is appreciated!

What are the Prosport gauges for? Chances are they don't draw much current and
a small gauge (20 or 22) wire would be fine (try Radio Shack), but the 18 gauge wire at the
hardware stores should be fine as well.

The instructions that came with my gages said 20 gauge wire.

Time to go visit an auto parts store... Looks for primary wire, 20 or 22 ga, multistrand, oh and don't forget the correct size connectors

Do not use solid conductor wire....
It will fatigue in a car from vibration....crack/break inside the insulation...
Multistrand wire only.
