Replacing Fresh Air Blend Door Actuator help needed Please.
Hello everyone. I followed the original thread posted a few years ago and was able to remove the Fresh air Blend door actuator as that was the cause of my clicking sound near the glove compartment when turning on the fan. I was able to wrap my arms under the dash and did it without having to remove all parts of the trim, etc.
However when I pulled out the part this other part came out with it.
Can someone tell me what it could be and if it can be placed back on or is it sheared off? It looks to be sheared off but I cannot find that part in any of the diagrams/schematics online.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Bumping this thread for anyone else that comes across it.
I had the same issue with mine. I ended up reaching inside of the HVAC box (where the filter goes) and removing the door that this attaches to. From there I drilled a hole and threaded it so I could reattach this arm. I just grabbed a m5 screw with a tappered head i had laying around, If I was to do this again I might get something a bit more coase to help lock the two together. I reinstalled the door and then placed the arm back in place and screwed in my new removable arm. When doing this to want to make sure this arm is lined up with the door. After that you just reinstall your switch and you are good to go.
Sorry about the lack of pictures but it was just as simple as that.
How do you get to the top screw? I know about removing the entire dash. Cut my Torx 20 to a 90 but can't get the angle. Was thinking of doing the same to a ball head torx but worried if I get the screw out I will never get it back in.
