R56 PO54B Cold Start “B” Cam Position Timing Over Retarded help

Recently did an oil change, and added Cold and Hot side charge pipes. (During oil change I added Marvel Mystery Oil).

I started my car up this morning and got code PO54B.

Im thinking of cleaning VANOS solenoids. What do you guys think?

Recommended repair procedures :

- Check oil level, change engine oil and filter as indicated
- If faults related to the camshaft position sensor have been logged, repair these first
- Check wiring harness between VANOS solenoid valve and DME
- Perform system test
- Check camshaft and VANOS unit for freedom of movement and mechanical damage
- Clean VANOS solenoid valve, replace as required-

Its BMW speak - Digital Motor Electronics (DME)
It is the engine control unit (ECU)

I replied in your other thread... You mentioned cleaning the VANOS solenoids. I would just replace them.
