Rough idle

Okay so I was just driving my r56 on a small highway, and as I took the exit and it was a sharp right turn... going about 35-40mph, my oil light flashed on and shut off and now the car has a really rough idle. Any reason why this would happen? Car was running completely fine before the turn.

Check and top off your oil as needed. Sounds like you may be down a couple quarts causing incorrect oil pressure to the the vanos adjustment unit/solenoid. Start with the oil check/top off and let us know if it resolves itself.

car has multiple codes. multiple misfire, retarded timing, some camshaft code, and one for the vanos solenoid.

Either that or your low on oil, when that happens it will flash. But you should be a normal idle once it's back to normal. It would also sound like a really bad timing chain rattle till the oil returns. I would check your oil asap. And scan the car with a good scan tool :

Then see if you are get the Vanos code.

There is the older design and it does not have the little screen. That's how you can tell it you have the older vs newer design.
