Oil cooler repair

Has anyone ever replaced their oil cooler gaskets by going through the passenger-side wheel well? Access there appears easier than going through the top. One more: Is this task easier with the subframe removed? Thanks.

I did it through the wheel well without removing the subframe. Access to a couple of the screws is a PITA but it's do-able. When done, check the floor to make sure neither of the gaskets decided to jump ship while you were getting the screws back in.
