wipers stuck in delay mode

wipers stuck in delay mode
So yesterday, my wipers turned on in "intermittent" mode when I started the car. You can select other modes, and make it go faster, spray the windshield, etc.. But you can';t turn them off - off mode is the same as intermittent mode.
This has happened several times, and seems to stop after a day or so.
Has anyone else seen this weird behavior? Any idea what can cause it?

Well, I was hoping someone had seen something like this, maybe not. I've searched through the message boards (here and elsewhere) and I've tried almost everything -
- Pulled off the battery cables and let it sit.
- Charged the battery up overnight
- Sprayed WD-40 in the ignition switch and ran it from position 0 to 2 about 50 times.
- Did the same thing with electric contact cleaner.
- Checked the grounding cable (was good).
- There is no water nor corrosion on the fuse box or relays
- There is no water nor corrosion on the body control module (But I suppose it doesn't mean that it's not broken somehow)
- Replace the wiper switch (found a full set on Redline Auto - it's on its way).
- If that does nothing, then I'll find a BCM and replace that.

Problem Solved
If anyone else sees this issue - here is what i found.
in the R52, the relays are under the hood by the battery box.
There was no water, corrosion, or anything, and both fast and slow wipers were working, so i wrote those off as the cause.
But today, I got desperate again, and decided to pull the relays so I could get the part numbers from them. I tried wiggling them out. Tried prying them out. Tried pulling them out. Nothing I did would get them out. So I gave up, shut the fuse box, and on a lark, tried the wipers again... and they worked perfectly.
So, if you see this (delayed wipers always on), check the relays first.
