Alternate method for S/C pulley removal ?

I hate to waste 70$ for a pulley puller . I see others have cut it off . Anyone successfully used a different method ?

Don’t try to cut it off. You might cut or scar the SC shaft.

rent a puller from another Gen 1 owner. If you mess up the SC shift you’ll NEED the pulley designed for messed up shafts. Can’t remember where to get it but I’ve seen it for sale.

Cut mine off. Mildly time consuming but I've had poor luck with pullers myself. As long as you take it slow, damaging the shaft is a non-issue. If you go in there like Ash from Evil Dead, you're sure to have a bad time.
