Gremlin Hunters Unite!

So I have an 05 R52 that I love. I am on a mission and I wanted to try and get some input from those around me that may have more experience with Mini than I do yet. I have three or four issues that I am beginning to think might all be related somehow. Issue 1 is I don't seem to be getting any power at all to my top. The buttons show no lights there are no clicks anywhere when buttons pressed and when the scan tool is hooked up to it I can not see the top module (either one) at all. Issue 2 is I can not talk to the air bag module with the scan tool either doesn't see anything there to talk to fails communication just like it does with the top. Issue 3 is radio is after replacement showing disabled. Issue 4 is the scan tool does not auto find my vin but I have the foxwell and after i select the correct model and such all the others things work fine. Now the reason I think all these might be connected is that in all my research so far it seems the K-bus is what facilitates most of the communication and is also the key factor in unlocking the radio. So my question is do any of you in the collective think I am looking for a broken wire or short somewhere that might be taking out all of these things or are they all most likely a separate problem?

My next course of action is I am going to remove all the interior and start going over the wiring but if any one had any thoughts on typical problem areas I would be most appreciative. I hope to be able to document and update this so that later on I might be able to help someone else. I am open to all suggestions so hit me with everything you got! I should say that yes I have been through all the fuse locations and every thing checks good wit the test light and volt meter.

It's entirely possible there's an issue with the K-bus. But the proper diagnosis is to measure the signal on it with an oscilloscope. Broken wires and bad connections are just two of many other failure modes and visual inspection of wiring is extremely time consuming and won't necessarily identify the fault.
