Schwaben Scan Tool
Schwaben Scan Tool
Hi Everyone,
I recent got a Schwaben Scan Tool for my 2014 R60 Base. I've been trying to register it on the Foxwell Site as well as their downloaded Foxwell App and can't seem to do it because it asks for both a unit serial number and password for the device. However, my device only has a serial number. I checked on the device itself and the "about" on the screen and no password to be found, just the serial number.... ECS Tuning that I got it from has been great and even sent me another one since maybe there was maybe some issue with the original, but this one is the SAME. No password, only the serial number. No way for me to register it (or update in the future) on the Foxwell site without the unit password.
Anyone run into this on theirs? I know a lot of guys/gals on here have this unit...

The scan tool unit seems to work fine. I have pulled some codes for the Passenger Airbag issue and it is related to the Seat Bottom sensor. I can't seem to find any help on fixing that important issue though... Such as a seat bottom cushion part number that is the correct or reasonable one or alternative work around. I previous filed a NHTSA complaint about this safety issue as well since there have been recalls for such but for whatever reason they don't list my VIN. That route though I'm pretty pessimistic about.
I have not checked to see if it addresses the service intervals... The issue seems to be with registering and updating the unit. The instructions and process seem convoluted and the manufacturer (Foxwell) has been MIA to help myself or the vendor (ECS who has been excellent to work with) figure it out. The good news is that I was able to pull codes thus far.

Got mine last week and had the same issue. I’m a MacOS guy so I had to find a pc, went to www.foxwelltech.us and selected the update download tool. After downloading and opening the app it gives you the opportunity to register the device. The update tool will show you the sn# and the password for the scan tool.
Update and you should be good to go.
