AC clutch slipping ?

I replaced my AC clutch about a year or so ago and yesterday while driving I noticed what appeared to be the AC compressor cutting off and on so when I got it home I tried topping off the freon but couldn't get the low side pressure to pull down below 50-60 . After putting in about half a can I realized something else had to be happening
I checked it this morning and the AC clutch is slipping and then catching . It's not the belt tensioner and not the belt itself and the clutch isn't going on and off its definitely slipping . Seems to be a worn out clutch? Ant ideas ,suggestions greatly appreciated

You can pick up a reman compressor on eBay for around $100. Just replace it and be done with it. I did mine two years ago and it will freeze you out of the car.

It could be a bad AC clutch or even corrosion between it and the compressor.

Had corrosion behind a clutch last week causing it not to engage. I ohmed it out and there was over 2k ohms. Should be less than 10. Pulled the clutch and cleaned up the corrosion and dropped to 39 ohms. Pulled it again and cleaned with emery cloth. Dropped to 8 ohms and works great.

The clutch can be pulled off the compressor with removing the compressor. Just put it in service mode so you can reach the clutch connector. One wire. It grounds mechanically through the case.

The only special tool you need is snap ring pliers.

Thank you for the help . So to be clear you measured the resistance from the connector ( compressor side) to ground .
