Random low battery issue.

Mini just recently began to experience not having enough juice to start although all other electricals work okay. It jump starts okay. I tested the alternator and it's fine. I just replaced the battery but the situation is still ongoing. Think it's a lemon battery or starter issue? Nothing else seems to but staying on that would drain the battery. I checked the battery with a multimeter and first time read 12.7, the next day was 12.2 and there was no driving done either day.

Could be a battery cable or corroded connetion problem too.

The cable terminals at the battery post look okay, guess I'll trace them to the other ends, I know the + goes to the starter solenoid but not sure if - is to the block or where, I can google that probably. I just recently put on a catless downpipe and this issue began a couple of weeks later. It maybe just a coincidence though, I didn't see any significant cables/wires in the area. Thanks.

May have found the issue. I put a charger on it when I got home last night, went to disconnect this morning and the + cable terminal was loose so I readjusted and retightened. Not sure what happened, I made sure it wouldn't twist when I replaced the battery. Hopefully this does the trick.

For future reference, the Wal-Mart battery did fit but did not have the reserve capacity that Mini's require thus all the post shutoff operations were creating a deficit on that battery. I've had good experiences normally with the Wally batteries to this point but just doesn't fly with these cars.
