75K on my R52 - Items to do?
Hi all,
My '06 R52 MCS is my daily. Got it Jan 2014 with 14K on the clock and have absolutely loved it ever since. It was a third car for the original engineer owner, and was always garaged & babied. Totally rust & damage free other than rock chips in the hood. Have had a number of cars (new, used, and classic/antique) and this is definitely in my top five overall. I have kept up on routine maintenance and tend to DIY whenever I reasonably can. But with two kids, house, job, etc I can't OCD / geek out on car care like I did in my teens & 20's... So Mortimer the Mini gets what I can give him but I am realizing that with 75K on the clock I should be paying attention to preventative matters.
Looking for your advice as to things I should be scheduling to do.
What I have done (other than oil / filter every 5K-8K, tires, wipers, brakes, etc):
- thermostat & gasket at 19K
- passenger motor mount at 30K (I think it's leaking again...)
- serpentine belt at 43K (2016)
- low speed resistor for radiator fan at 50K
- manual trans oil change (Redline) at 62K
What I'm thinking about:
- another boost of R134a (last was in 2016 and AC is getting a little weak again)
- supercharger oil change (when is this necessary - am I due?)
- water pump change (again, when?)
- harmonic dampener - I've read they fail, should I just change it
- serpentine belt (Bentley says every four years, so I'd be about due)
- aluminum coolant tank - mine is REALLY yellow
- clutch - something kinda clicks or slightly pops on releasing. Not a sound, just a feel; I especially notice it when starting in 1st. Am thinking it might be a bushing but am not very familiar.
- top mechanism always squeaks (but I've yet to find anyone with a solution to that one...)
- brake fluid flush / change
- strut tower plates
What am I missing? Is any of the above unnecessary at this point?
Thanks in advance for your input!
