Transmission fluid silver haze

Hey guys and girls, I recently pulled my engine and trans r52 to do some major service work. I noticed the trans fluid had a silver haze and it was dark brown. I thought it a bit odd since I just changed the fluid less than 7k miles ago. Does anyone have any info that could help me determine the issue? Thanks in advance!

Without knowing what it looked like going into the gearbox, ain’t no way we could tell you what to look for. Best way to know what the fluid can tell you is to have an oil analysis performed. Or, crack open the gearbox and see if anything is readily apparent.
