Broken hood latch - dang! SOLVED
my hood latch seems to have disconnected at the Bowden box under the hood. How to open the hood now?? 09 Clubman.

Turned out to be the Bowden box had disconnected at the frame brace. Removed wheels, removed fender liners, took out hood hinge bolts, shifted hood around enough to reach in and reassemble the Bowden box cable. Reassemble all the bits.
