My hood all the sudden had a larger gap between the bumper and hood on the drivers side. So I popped the hood and was looking around and after shutting it and opening it a few times I realized that the passenger side latch will hook in and latch the hood nice and tight but the drivers side wont latch down. Any ideas how this could be fixed? Its pretty annoying. It's a 2003 S.

 

Try activating it manually, ie with the hood up see if you can get the latch to engage, this will tell you if its working or not.

 

Unfortunately, with the information given it will be nearly impossible. It could be that the latch is jammed, bent, broken, rusty, or just needs some cleaning and lubrication. It could be that the cable is jammed, bent, broken, rusty and needs some cleaning and lubrication. The release lever inside the car could have problems also. Any and all of the components mentioned could need to be replaced if a repair is not possible. Another possibility is some obstruction under the hood that is not allowing that side to close all the way. Check for obstructions also. And you could always take pics of each side and post them so that NAM might be able to "see" what you are seeing and assist as possible.
